The Hummer I.P. is a companion card to our Top of the Line Hardware Diagnostic Card, The PHD PCI. PHD PCI is capable of testing all PCI based systems but lacks the access to the ISA bus to conduct testing of the ISA bridge and the ISA Sub-system. The Hummer IP is an ISA based I/O card that enables our PCI diagnostic board to perform tests on the ISA portion of the system. The proccess is fully automated. Once the Hummer I.P. card is installed on the ISA bus, PHD PCI goes through a batterey of tests to check for bus validity and function. Hummer I.P. contains all needed circuitry needed to help PHD PCI probe and analyze the ISA bus for failures, defects, or timing problems that can cause intermittent failures.

Most motherboards on the market today have both ISA and PCI slots; hence, it makes sense to perform an overall system diagnostic. Since many devices exist in an ISA format only, new systems need to be fully tested to verify the correct operation of both the PCI and ISA bus to avoid after Sales problems.

With its circuitry, the Hummer IP makes it possible to check for all Interrupt request lines and measure critical timings of key system clocks and bus signals. It also provides for complete DMA testing by performing TRUE DMA transfers form Memory I/O and vice versa.
