1. When should I use the QuickTech Professional Software?
The QuickTech software is perfect for testing systems that are fully assembled. It will allow you run a complete diagnostics without removing the cover from the case. It is also a perfect tool for testing systems that boot normally but exhibit intermittent failures.

QuickTech Pro is also designed with PC assemblers in mind. With its script capabilities, it is the ideal tool for any PC assembler to use as the primary burn-in software.
2. What can the QuickTech test that the PHD card can't?
The following are additional devices that the software can test but the PHD does not. These devices include: sound cards, Mouse ports, SCSI devices, file saving capabilities, low level formatting of IDE drives, data destructive testing of hard drives, memory scanning, and multi media devices.

3. What do the codes next to the burn-in script mean?
When running the burn-in script, QuickTech Pro will place numbers next to test when a failure is detected. It will also place numbers next to the test if you escape the burn-in before it concludes. If a dash appears, that means more than one sub-test failed. If a check appears, the test passed.

The following is the explanation of the other codes:

6. I am getting red alphanumeric characters during the RAM test, what do they mean?
If you see red alphanumeric characters in the memory map, that indicates that a failure was detected. Depending on the area of the failure, it will point you to the exact failing module. Furthermore, the failing bits are indicating the exact location of the failure on a specific module.

7. Is the RAM test compatible with my system?
The memory test has been tested on many systems. We have not come across a system that does not support our RAM test. The test have also been verified by many memory manufacturers, if we detect a failure, rest assured you are having a memory problem.
8. Your software finds errors but my other software diagnostic packages don't?
Many customers have a couple of different testing software packages. At times these packages will report different results. These results are a direct result of the software's capability of running extensive testing. We strive to be the best hence; we detect problems that other packages do not.

9. What can the software test?
The software is ideal for testing peripherals. Peripherals are most devices that you insert into your motherboard. The software will also generate extensive system reports.
10. Does the software run burn-in diagnostics?
One of the purposes of the software is to run testing on newly built machines. The software has the ability to have ready-made scripts for testing systems according to your specifications. When run from a dos prompt, the software will boot into an automated test script with out user intervention. Reports can also be generated at the end of the test cycle.
11. How do I write a burn-in script?
When you first go into the burn-in menu, you will see that we have prepared a script for you. You may choose to edit this script or you can write an additional script. The script is a set-by-set process that the software will follow to conduct your specific test routines. When writing a script, always start with test features before you get into the diagnostic routines. For example, you should always begin with display features, what should the software do if an error is detected, the actual tests, how long to run the script, what to do with the result, and finally what should the software do when it is all done.

12. How do I run the software under DOS?
To run the software under dos, we recommend that you format a bootable system's disk and use that as an operating system disk. This will give you a clean DOS boot without the presence of any memory mangers. You can also include and drivers that you want loaded for the software to use during the diagnostic period.

13. How do I run the software under Windows?
Contrary to popular belief, you can run QuickTech under Windows. Most of the tests will run, except the memory tests. By running QuickTech under Windows, you will not damage any system files. Depending on your system, certain tests may cause Windows to error out, this is not a problem, simply exit and you can re-enter the dos prompt.

We do not recommend running the program under Windows.
